Nusa Dua

THE TRANQUIL BEACHES OF NUSA DUA
The last postcard from Bali is from Nusa Dua. It is the main resort area of Bali and as I have mentioned before, this is where my parents met. It's an exclusive area with mostly hotels and one shopping and dining area. Because it is so removed from the rest of the island (Nusa Dua means "two islands" and represents the two small peninsulas jutting out on the eastern side of the bukit), it can seem a little clinical and sterilized.

There are no people hounding you on the beach to make you buy sarongs or other trinkets, no one selling coconut water or ice cream, fewer people (if you are on a private beach) and the service is on par with what you expect from a 4-5 star hotel. And what, frankly, is wrong with that? It's not to everyone's liking, but if your idea of a vacation is pure relaxation with the occasional visit to some famous sightseeing spot, the Nusa Dua is the place for you. Choose your hotel wisely. It will be your universe for the length of your stay.
