Bali Rice Terraces

PEACE AND SERENITY ONLY A STONE'S THROW FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF UBUD

Turn off onto a small road and follow a tiny path that seems to lead nowhere and you'll suddenly find yourself in the middle of the rice fields with only the sound of the wind to keep you company.

Continue walking along and you'll come across a few artists and restaurants. We went to Sari Organik but walked past Cafe Pomegranate which looked spectacular and offered free wi-fi (for those who need to check email, facebook, instagram or their next step over lunch).

Walking around the rice terraces was such a welcome break from the ordeal of getting to Ubud with the sound of engines and cars honking at each other. If you are in the area for the day, this is a definite must. If you are lucky enough to be staying in and around Ubud for longer, head to Tegallalang to see the terraces.
